The Vox Antiqua Chamber Choir was formed in January 2000 by former students of the Kántus (Mixed Choir of the Calvinist College, Debrecen) and music majors of the University of Debrecen. Its main goal is to introduce the vocal music of old ages. Besides the choir performs many other pieces of different styles.

In the past years it has made several radio and CD recordings as well, besides numerous concerts both in Hungary and abroad.

The Vox Antiqua Chamber Choir is a regular guest at diploma concerts of the University of Debrecen.

In 2001 it won the 3rd Prize at the International Choral Competition in Budapest.

In July 2002 it won the 1st Prize in Debrecen at the 20th Bartók Béla International Choral Competition and also the Special Prize of the Hungarian Radio.

In 2003 it won the 1st Prize and Special Prize at the 18th International Chamber Choir Competition in Pécs.

In 2004 the choir made its first CD recording on its own (Hear the Song of Faith).

The same year and in 2006 it won the Golden Diploma at the Cantemus Choral Festival in Nyíregyháza, Hungary.

In 2006 it won the First Price at the 4th Kodály Zoltán Hungarian Choral Competition in Budapest.

In 2008 the choir won the 3rd Prize and the Special Prize of Jury at Neuchâtel (CH) Internetional Choir Competition. The same year the Vox Antiqua won 1st and 2nd Prize and Csaba Kiss got the Conductor’s Prize at Trnava (SK) International Choir Competition. 

In July 2010 at Spittal an der Drau (A) International Choral Competition the choir won 2nd Prizes in both of the cathegories and a Special Prize of the Ferdinand Grossmann Foundation.

In 2011 it won the 1st Prize and Special Prize at the 22th International Chamber Choir Competition in Pécs.
